This 30 minute hatha yoga sequence focuses on the two places we hold the most tension: the neck and hips! Start your day with this energizing and tension-releasing hatha yoga class.

We begin by grounding through gentle breathing exercises before moving into a gentle flow to warm up the body and spine. Then we get into a gentle Hatha flow with lots of twists and circular motions. Hatha yoga is traditionally slower, holding postures for longer periods. In this fusion Hatha flow sequence, we are moving slowly through the postures while moving dynamically in each posture for a deep full-body stretch. We move the arms and shoulders A LOT, bringing fresh blood flow to your neck and shoulders and loosening up any tension you may be holding there.

Then we move to the floor for longer holds in hip-opening seated postures. I like these hip-opening postures on the floor because it really lets you stretch your lower back and spine while surrendering into these poses. Wait until you get into these final stretches, you will LOVE them! Practice this routine once a week to increase flexibility in the neck, spine, and hips long-term.
